Marine biotoxin warning extended

The Ministry for Primary Industries today extended the public health warning against collecting shellfish in the Bay of Plenty region. The warning now covers the coastline from the northern end of Waihi Beach south-eastward to Opape.

Kaimai crash victim named

Police can now release the name of the man killed in a crash on SH29 on the Kaimai Ranges early on Friday.
He was Ahmed Shariff, 37 years old, of Cambridge.
Police’s thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
The Serious Crash Unit investigation into the crash is ongoing.
